Weighs up to 100g and down to 0.01g. Suitable for weighing gold up to 100g (though it's a bit 'over the top' in sensitivity for just gold); good for gemstones (100 points = 1 carat, 5 carat = 1 gram...so this weighs down to the nearest 5 points).

- carat (ct) for gemstones and diamonds, not to be confused with carat as gold purity).
- grains (gn), originally used for weighing gold (based on a grain of wheat), today used for weighing powder for ammunition or catalysts for adhesives

Guarantee
10 years. This covers manufacturing faults only, it excludes normal wear and tear, bowls, trays, finishes, clasps, hinges, feet, AC adaptors and batteries; it also excludes being overloaded / dropped (e.g. error messages EEE, 0-Ld, or OUEr). The guarantee is invalid if the scale shows signs of foreign material (e.g. residues of herbs, chemicals, corrosion, spilt tea). After 1 year you must pay the postage both ways.
Inaccurate readings can be fixed by calibrating the scale, this is something that is very easy for you to do yourself with a (not supplied). Giving inaccurate readings does not mean it is broken - all electronic measuring devices need calibrating every now and again, see .
